Ardbeg Day is 5/31/14 on Islay.

Do we know what day will be Ardbeg Day in Westborough?

Thanks.

It will be the last Wednesday in May, May 28th, presumably 7 PM.

Crap, I'll be on vacation then in Tubac, Arizona for 10 days.

Anyone know if Ardbeg Day makes it that far west, say, to Tucson?

Well, based on past Ardbeg tour events I have seen in Phoenix, I would have said probably someplace in AZ. But, as you can see from LAST YEARS SIGNUP at https://www.mhusa.com/projects/ardbeg/2013/form.asp it skipped that area although there were some west coast venues. But, who knows what will happen this year.

Clearly, I will need to ask Ryan about opening a Julio's franchise when I retire to Arizona.

Ah, the things one must do to secure and promote a reliable and premiere supply of spirit of life.

Does supply look solid again this year as in the past two?

In other words, is this something we can safely expect to pick up without worrying about a Hold Card? Smile

sounds like someone's trying to horde his hold cards...

I heard a rumor (OK, I started it) that when you get to 100 hold cards, you can trade them in for a regular spot on "It's the Liquor Talking".

Not horde, just use them wisely. Smile

Hold Cards sounded like a great idea... until the All For Me Generation roared ?

Historically - I have enjoyed many 'special bottling' Ardbeg events at Julio's and everyone around me has left reasonably happy - presuming each person would be happy with a single bottle.

Entitlement 101 is boring.

I haven't heard of people using Hold Cards to grab multiple bottles of something. The idea is really for limited releases to keep them 'in the family' of Julio's Customers and not like it was in the past when hundreds of people who never set foot in the store would sign up for lotteries to try to win them.

Wow. Smug much? Who are you talking about here? It can't be fellow L&K members because we bring in bottles from our own collections to share with others. And yet it must be L&K members because the only people with Hold Cards are Julio's customers and therefore L&K members. Well?

Sad ... not smug.

Yes, there may have been some abuse on ONLINE lotteries. Maybe? Who is to say that none of 'those' people became Julio's customers after winning?

Reward programs make sense for business owners... even when there are no lotteries.

What prompted my comment was the new notion of TYING Hold Cards into LIVE events at the store.

When supply is limited at a LIVE event - tickets or chips have been used - there has been general satisfaction from equitable distribution among those PRESENT - relying solely on CHANCE. These events have been OPEN and welcoming to everyone in attendance.
