I visited the store for the first time and was very pleased with the service and selection. I purchased my first scotch today and look forward to opening tonight.

An excellent entry into Scotch. I'm always surprised by how approachable and drinkable Glenmorangie "The Original" is. Enjoy it in good health!

Cheers!

Hi All,

New member here. I live and work in Boston, so I only occasionally make my way out to Julio's - wish there was a place like this within the city!

I'm primarily an american whiskey drinker, but have enjoyed a few single malts. Only recently have I begun hunting for rare bottlings. Am looking to trade information on where to find interesting things or to trade bottles.

Looking forward to learning a few things from this forum!

Thanks!

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the L&K, but not to Julio's. I've always been a fan of the selection of wine and beers. My friend turned me on to Whisky, and I haven't looked back.

My preferred style has yet to be nailed down, but I like things that are layered. The fact that a few drops of water opens up certain layers blows my mind.

Looking forward to learning more!

I know exactly what you mean. A few of my favorites that really change with a little water are:
Bruichladdich - the Laddie 10
Compass Box - Spice Tree
Ardbeg - start with the 10 yo, and go from there

enjoy the journey!

Hi All, I'm new to the site, a relatively newish Whiskey drinker.....Hoping to learn more about whats out there.

Been shopping at Julio's for a long time, since the hey day of Westborough State Hospital, but I digress.

What I like: JD, JD Sinatra Version, Whistle Pig, Knobb Creek, Makers Mark, and Yamazaki(Sp)....Low Budget stuff I guess.

Anyways, I hope to frequent this site often, and figure out the points thing. I'm not much of one for seminars and gatherings but it could be a good gateway to tasting some new spirits.

A friend gave me a bottle of Bookers and I liked it a lot better drinking it in a glass with ice cubes, especially as the ice melted. Typically, and maybe a rookie move, I drink Whiskey either in shots or 1-2 fingers in a glass with no ice or water....Never really thought to just add a touch of water at the beginning. I'll have to try it.

Not sure what my preferred style is, I don't like to taste Moss, I know that, LOL

Hello! I found this group through facebook, and sort of just followed the links. Been enjoying Whiskys for the past several years, but it wasn't until the past 3-4 years that I really started to dive in and learn more about them. Current favorite is Bunnahabhain 12 for Single Malts, my favorite blend is this new Ichiro Malt & Grain I picked up, and I'm going through Angel's envy like crazy so that must be my bourbon.
